Welcome to the Team – Hayley!

We’re delighted to introduce the newest member of our team, Hayley , who has joined us as our Further Education Officer. Earlier in the year the team of Trustees successfully applied to the Irwin Mitchell Charities Foundation for funds to support her work.
Hayley will be at the stables a couple of mornings each week, supporting our teenagers and young adults as they take the next steps towards their futures. She’ll be helping with things like building employability skills, writing CVs, and working towards awards that recognize their achievements.
Her passion for education and supporting young people makes her a wonderful addition to the Broadlands family, and we can’t wait for you all to meet her.
Meet Hayley :
Professional Background
An accredited Behavioural Health Coach and school ELSA (Emotional Support Assistant), my background has involved working within special educational needs facilities within schools, as well as supporting individuals with ADHD and Autism both at home and online. I have provided mentorship and resilience workshops along with 1:1 support to vulnerable young adults and adolescents.
Why I do what I do
Often in trouble at school, I felt really misunderstood and struggled to navigate my way through life, but the one thing I did seem to be good at was horse riding. I couldn’t afford lessons, so it lead me to helping at the local riding centre in exchange for rides. The centre was also a RDA charity. I found that the more time I spent with horses, the more I was able to communicate my needs better and so a great passion of mine was found. I just seemed to ‘get’ horses.
At the age of 24 I became a successful business woman, despite my not so great education, and went on to manage and develop two very successful private mental health organisations. My own challenging experiences in life have given me the motivation to give something back with the hope to prevent others from feeling how I did or finding themselves in similar situations. I guess you could say I have now come full circle as I embark on this exciting new chapter at Broadlands.
My approach
I will aim to provide you with the tools, resources and mindset to be authentically you and have the best chance at life and ensure you feel heard, understood and appreciated. I will be that space where you can learn and understand your needs and wants and together we will explore the options that are available to you.
Interests and Hobbies
Outside of my work it may come as no surprise that I am often found on one of the three gorgeous horses I’m very lucky to share. I’m a huge lover of the countryside and the peace it brings me. If I’m not on horseback, I’m out walking my giant dog Magnus, normally at some silly early time of the morning! It’s definitely my form of meditation and when I do my best thinking.
I love classic motorbikes, and hope to restore one in the near future. I’m always up to something!
