🐴Balance Pad Challenge 🐴
The ponies have been trying something a little different — standing on balance pads! This activity is a great mental and physical challenge for the horses, helping to improve their postural stability, body awareness, and proprioception (knowing where their body and feet are). It’s also a lower-energy way to keep their brains engaged, which is especially useful during the warmer weather. Each pony had their own reaction to the challenge. Thank you Resurrection Furniture Alton
Saturday 4th July was a day to celebrate as the final section of failing wooden post and rail fencing separating the paddocks was replaced with new posts and modern electric rope. This was all made possible by the ongoing support of Resurrection Furniture Alton and their generous donation paid for all the materials. Also, the team of volunteers who provided the know how and labour. A special shout out to Adam Bell of “Bells Fencing Services Ltd” in Alton, who donated his time

Hay!
We’re incredibly lucky to have around 9 acres that a generous local landowner allows us to cut for hay each year. Last night, a small team of amazing volunteers headed out to pull ragwort and docks, helping to ensure we get a clean, high-quality cut. A huge thank you to everyone who gave up their evening to help—it really does make a difference. Now we’re looking forward to harvest time… and that unbeatable smell of fresh hay filling the barn! 🌾🚜💚

HOT HOT HOT!
The team have been working incredibly hard to keep our ponies as cool and comfortable as possible during the warm weather. Here’s just some of what we’ve been doing: Hosing them down regularly to help them cool off. Bringing them in from the fields during the hottest part of the day. Making sure they have plenty of shade and fresh water at all times. Plaiting up long manes to allow body heat to escape. Keeping a close eye on every pony to make sure they’re happy, hydrate
