No. 205 - August 2025OUR NEWS Broadlands Open Day![]() We are so grateful the rain held off, giving everyone a chance to enjoy the day to the fullest. The ponies looked absolutely fabulous and loved all the attention. Our riders were truly amazing and made us all incredibly proud! Each one gave it their all, showing off their skills, confidence, and the strong bonds they’ve built with their ponies. It was inspiring to see their determination, joy, and the progress they’ve made through their sessions. Whether it was a first-time ride in front of a crowd or a confident display of riding ability, every rider shone in their own way. Their smiles said it all — what a brilliant showcase of what RDA is all about! ![]() A huge thank you to everyone who came along, supported the BBQ (which was a big hit!) and the eclectic Dog Show (it was great to meet all of your pooches :) - all of which helped make the day such a success. Your support means the world to us and helps us continue our work with the incredible individuals and animals that make Broadlands so special. We were also honoured to host the Australian Virtus Dressage Riders. They were in the UK preparing for the 2025 Virtus World Equestrian Dressage Championships hosted at Sparsholt College on 24/25 July. The mother of one of their lead coaches volunteered with Suzanne 'back in the day' and grew up in Medstead. Here’s to more sunny days, smiling faces, and happy hooves! 🥁 Drumroll, please… 🥁We’re thrilled to announce the winners of our Open Day Colouring Competition… 🎉 RUBY and ROXANNE 🎉A huge congratulations to both of you—your creativity truly stole the show! ![]() ![]() Thank you also to everyone who took part. A Resounding SuccessWe were delighted to host our first Own a Pony Morning of 2025, where our young riders had the opportunity to experience the full responsibilities of pony care. ![]() The day began with grooming and tacking up, followed by a relaxing hack out. Afterwards, participants took part in tack cleaning, feeding, and mucking out—gaining valuable hands-on experience in all aspects of horse care. ![]() A big Well Done to all the young equestrians for their enthusiasm and hard work throughout the morning!
