Fun horse fact!

Horses are basically born with a built-in raincoat!

• A horse’s coat is naturally water-resistant thanks to oils produced by their skin

• When it rains, their hairs can stand slightly on end, letting water run off instead of

soaking in

• This keeps the skin underneath dry and warm, even during heavy rain

• Their thick winter coats can trap warm air, acting like natural insulation

• That’s why horses can often be more comfortable without a rug than with a wet one!
