Employment and Education Mentor


Broadlands Equine Therapy & RDA is seeking a passionate, organized, and safeguarding-focused Employment & Education Mentor to join our dedicated team. This is a rewarding role supporting young people and adults through equine-assisted activities, education, and career development.


Key Responsibilities:

•Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), supporting safeguarding policies and procedures

•Coordinate work experience placements including organization, monitoring, interviewing and all associated paperwork

•Support career development and employability, particularly for school-refusing teenagers and young people facing barriers to education

•Deliver Pony Club Mini Badges

•Lead and support RDA activities as an Activity Lead (Full training will be given)

•Assist with BHS Challenge and Pony Stars programmes

•Support the planning and delivery of open days, events, and outreach activities

•Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, families, schools, and external agencies


Essential Requirements:

•Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)

•In-house Safeguarding training (to be provided)

•Experience working with young people, particularly those with additional needs, SEND, or school refusal

•Strong organisational and administrative skills

•Confident, calm, and empathetic communication style

•A genuine passion for equine-assisted learning and therapeutic environments

•Full driving licence due to rural location


Desirable:

•An understanding of responsibilities within Primary and Secondary schools and Hampshire County for SEND students, work experience placements and home schooling support.

•Experience within RDA, equine therapy, education, or mentoring roles

•Knowledge of BHS programmes, Pony Club, or similar structured awards

•First Aid Certificate


Hours & Contract:

Part-time hours employed – to be discussed and agreed

£14 ph
