"A Shifted Sense of Normal"

Suzy Dymond-White retired in 2025 after 38 years working in HM Prison Service. She started her career at HMP Holloway in 1987 and worked in 10 other prisons; 3 as Governor in charge. She also held a number of policy roles at regional and national level.

Her personal reflections give an insight into the daily life of our country’s prisons and the characters that live and work behind the bars of these often unseen and unheard institutions.

Suzy will share her memories of the tough times, the sad times and the unexpected amount of hilarity that makes up the complex world of prisons, prison staff and prisoners.
