Broadlands - Grass to Snow
The ponies are enjoying being out in the snow, they are foraging well and gaining snowy muzzles as a reward. Rowan has been rolling around in it and our super Icelandic Investment, Daisy, shows her heritage by ignoring the hay on the hedge line and sticking her muzzle straight in the snow to find the grass underneath.
They have all moved to the far ends of the fields, where they can get protection
from the wind along the hedge line and have a couple of bales of hay to see them
through. They are well rugged up and when they come in their rugs are like playmobil
rugs solid on the outside, but they are toasty warm and dry underneath.
The water troughs are icing over, but are cleared regularly.
