Every equestrian knows someone who has suffered from equestrian theft. Equestrian crime prevention is the key, so NECD has taken an innovative and strategic approach to unite forces and develop a world class system to fight escalating crime.

NECD is the most advanced equestrian crime database in the world.  It is designed to protect your horse, your equestrian estate, your passion.

To ensure their idea met the needs of everyone involved, NECD met with the UK Police Forces and the UK equestrian insurers to understand the crime problems and their needs in reducing crime and recovering goods to owners.  They looked at the users and made the system as simple and comprehensive as possible utilising the relevant communication methods.

The police forces now have an easily accessible database from which they can trace owners of any equestrian items logged on the database, from saddles through horses to bridles and stirrups across all forces in every county.

The insurers know their clients have access to a rigorous system that will help prevent theft and increase the chance of recovery and at a minimal cost.

The NECD is an efficient low cost countrywide tool accessible to all horse owners.
