Hugh Jonathan is the brother of Emma, to whom the large mirror on the long side of the school is dedicated along with other equipment.
Emma, a talented cross country rider, died in a freak accident in August 2008 during a competition at Hartpury, when her beloved horse El Nino somersaulted over a jump, crushing her chest.
Hugh is going to complete the Ironman 2010 challenge on 1 August. The Ironman challenge includes swimming, cycling and running a full marathon.
In all Hugh will:
Click each of the trails to see the detail and don’t forget to scroll down the page and check the route profiles, the swim is the only one on the flat!!
His target time is under 14 hours - for all of it.
Hugh has made a huge commitment to complete the challenge. When I met him at Broadlands on the afternoon of 13th July he had spent the morning cycling from Petersfield to Chichester and back 3 times, just think of that hill out of Harting. He followed this with a run from Petersfield to Alton and back - all before lunch.
All the money Hugh raises will be donated to Broadlands in memory of his sister Emma. Please go to his web page on CharityGiving to donate now and we can collect the Gift Aid to top up the sums raised. If you are a non UK tax payer or Company please donate as we receive every penny.
To reward Hugh’s efforts please sponsor him now, it really is easy, you know every penny raised will help Broadlands.
